Unfortunately, many beaches become rather crowded if you would like to visit beaches in the summer season. Fortunately for us, there are still many other beaches that are less busy and are secluded, but we may travel a lot longer.
Many tourists would opt out because it’s not practical to travel for long hours. It may not be necessary to travel to these places every day to visit these beautiful beaches. In lieu of this, you can book accommodation nearby your favorite beach (like paros villas near Naousa beach). Balos, Crete
Balos, Crete is well known to many, but getting here requires much effort and more traveling. We will have a 15 km off-road drive followed by a tiresome walk of 2km to get here. But it’s worth the effort. This location has beautiful scenery, not to mention the fantastic beaches nearby. There are many places to visit where you can taste the local cuisine. The beaches have crystal clear and calm waters which are perfect for swimming in. Alternatively, you can just lie on the sand.
Plaka Beach, Naxos
Naxos is a great place that has many excellent beaches. Plaka beach is located on the southwest coast of the island of Naxos. There are a lot of sandy beaches that we can enjoy. The sandy beaches and clear waters make it perfect for sunbathing, swimming, and fun activities like water sports. There are also unique nearby places that we can visit and stay.
Elafonisi, Crete
Elafonisi, Crete is a unique beach that is quite popular but less crowded. We can enjoy our stay here. Because it’s secluded, many tourists would not go here, thus more space and privacy for us. There are several rare plants and animals on this island. Fortunately, the tourist infrastructure here remains at a minimum. We can have a simple vacation here in Elafonisi, Crete, perfect for our budget.
Voutoumi, Antipaxos
Considered one of the best beaches in Greece. The Voutoumi in Antipaxos is a great place to spend your summer vacations. This is an exotic locale where the greenery comes right down to the sand in some areas, and the rugged rocks contrast with the smooth, beautifully clear, turquoise water. This is a great location that has many amazing sceneries. Although it’s a secluded beach, many people would still go here because, well, it’s a fantastic place. There are two popular restaurants here, the higher of which, upon the hill, offers impressive views out over the bay.
Seychelles, Ikaria
Seychelles, Ikaria is an excellent location for a summer getaway. This quirky cove with the pebble-rock beach is picturesque beyond belief. Sweeping rock formations hug around the bay, creating a cozy and intimate setting and framing the bluest blue seas. Reaching the coast is easy. All we have to do is follow the old riverbed path from the main road. Taking a water taxi is a great option. Still, walking is also good. We can enjoy admiring the scenery and appreciate the surroundings by slowly walking and following the riverbed. Although we may get tired, the efforts are all worth it.
Special Mention – The most Popular beach in Greece, Navagio beach
Navagio beach is a cool-looking beach located in the easter part of the Greek Island of Zakynthos. One of the most famous beaches in Greece. Massive limestone cliffs flank the white sand beach on three sides. Beautiful warm blue water makes for a perfect swim. Tour boats provide the only real access and anchor at the beach hourly. With such fantastic scenery and crystal clear waters, we can surely enjoy our stay here.
